Over the course of 4 exciting weeks, we are offering TWO different options to jump into learning some basic skills.
Hand sewing for ages 7 and up. And Machine Sewing 101 for ages 10 plus. *Please see other listings for hand sewing.
Machine 101 – Skills taught will be threading the machine, winding new bobbins, how to adjust tension (and what it means). We will learn the language/verbage, and how to read a pattern and practice sewing straight lines in different stitches. Ironing seams. At the end of the class, we can use our knowledge and sew a pillowcase. Learning to use a sewing machine is important for children because it develops technical skills, creativity, and precision. It empowers them to design and create functional or artistic projects, fosters self-confidence through hands-on accomplishments, and introduces a practical skill that can be used throughout life.
Ages: 10 plus
Date and times: Wednesdays from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm
February 5th, 12th, 26th, and March 5th. *Please note, no class on February 19th due to winter break*
Cost: $260 plus tax
Each session is packed with creativity, hands-on learning, and tons of fun. Plus, all materials are included, so your child just needs to bring their imagination. By the end of the course, they’ll leave with a tote bag they’ll be proud to show off!
