Stories Behind the Splat

Why the Innovation Award Means So Much to Us

This award holds a special place in our hearts because innovation has always been at the core of The Messy Moose. We didn’t set out to copy a model. We built something rooted in trust, creativity, and the belief that kids thrive when they’re given freedom, not templates.

Being recognized for innovation tells us that our community sees the intention behind what we do: creating a space where art is about exploration, confidence, and connection. It’s a reminder that choosing the less obvious path can still lead somewhere meaningful.

How We Won the Bronze in 2023

When The Messy Moose opened its doors, we had no idea what the response would be. Three months later, our community showed up in a big way, voting us a Bronze win in the Cochrane Eagle’s Best of Cochrane. It felt unreal. It felt earned. And it reminded us that there was real hunger for a space where kids could create freely and families could feel at home.

How We Kept the Silver Streak Going

The Silver wins in 2024 and 2025 weren’t about novelty. They were about consistency. Showing up. Holding space for creativity. Listening to families. Growing programs thoughtfully. These awards reflect the trust our community continues to place in us, and we don’t take that lightly.
